WiseView is on its way out: Hanwha pulled the Android app from Google Play in September 2024 after years without updates. The good news is that the desktop answer is better than WiseView ever was. Hanwha’s free Wisenet Viewer runs natively on Windows and macOS and connects to Wisenet cameras and recorders directly.

What happened to WiseView

WiseView was Hanwha Techwin’s consumer app for Wisenet DVRs, NVRs and cameras, the ones sold in Samsung-branded and Wisenet home surveillance kits. Its last Android update landed in March 2020, and the Google Play listing was unpublished in September 2024. An iOS listing still shows on Apple’s App Store, but an app four-plus years without updates is not something to build your home security around. Crucially, the cameras and recorders themselves are fine; you just need current software to view them, and Hanwha provides it for free on the desktop.

The official way: Wisenet Viewer on Windows and Mac

Hanwha Vision publishes Wisenet Viewer, a free light video management program for Windows and macOS. It does what WiseView did and considerably more: multi-channel live view with custom layouts, search and playback of recordings and a proper desktop interface built for a big screen. This is the rare camera brand where the PC option is first-party, current and free, so there is no reason to touch an emulator or a random “WiseView.exe” site.

Launch it and create the local admin password it asks for on first run.

What about phones, emulators and old APKs?

On a phone, Hanwha’s current app is Wisenet mobile on Google Play; check its device compatibility against your model. What happened to V380s

V380s was one of several apps from the V380 camera family. Its last update shipped back in 2022, and as of July 2026 its Google Play listing returns a 404. The developer has consolidated on V380 Pro, which is actively maintained, requires Android 7 or newer and carries tens of millions of installs. If your camera was set up with V380s, V380 Pro is the app to move to: add the camera with the same account or re-pair it once, and it behaves the same afterwards. Do not sideload old V380s APKs from mirror sites; an abandoned build of a camera app is a security liability, not a convenience.

Unusually for a budget camera brand, the vendor does publish a Windows program. The downloads page at v380camera.com, run by Guangzhou Hongshi Electronic Technology (the company behind the V380 brand), offers “V380 Windows” version 2.0.8 for 64-bit Windows 7, 8 and 10, delivered as a RAR archive. Why the VLC and RTSP trick usually fails with V380

With many CCTV brands we recommend skipping apps entirely and opening the camera’s RTSP stream in VLC. V380 cameras are the exception: most models stream over the vendor’s own protocol and do not expose a standard RTSP feed, which is why the RTSP URLs floating around forums rarely connect. IP Pro, also branded EseeCloud and VR Cam, is one of the few budget camera apps with a real desktop client. The vendor distributes EseeCloud for Windows 7 through Windows 11, plus an older Mac build, on its official download page, so most people never need an emulator. Setup is quick if your kit is already running: install the client, log in with the same account you use in the phone app, and your devices appear. You can also add a recorder directly by its cloud ID, the same ID printed on the box or shown in the app’s device details.

IP Pro is the companion app for a huge family of unbranded and lightly branded Wi-Fi NVR kits built on Juan technology. If your recorder’s manual mentions IP Pro, VR Cam, or EseeCloud, they are the same ecosystem and one account works across all of them, phone and PC alike. The Android app on Google Play sits at version 4.9.7.10 with over a million downloads, so this ecosystem is actively maintained, which is exactly what you want from surveillance software.

The only common reason to do this is wanting the app’s exact interface or its notification behavior on a PC. If that is you:

Login works on the phone but fails on the PC client: you are usually on an ancient 2.x build, so install the current version from the official page and try again. Straight answer: there is no official Danale app for Windows or Mac, and Danale itself is in rough shape in 2026. The official danale.com website no longer loads and the Danale Cam Android app was last updated in June 2024. On a PC your realistic options are running the app in an emulator, RTSP in VLC, or your camera brand’s own app.

Danale in 2026: what is actually going on

Danale is a Shenzhen based P2P and cloud video platform whose technology shipped inside a lot of budget Wi-Fi cameras. Brands like Victure and Jooan sold cameras that ran on Danale’s cloud, either through the Danale app itself or a rebranded version of it. That is why so many people who never bought anything called “Danale” end up searching for this app.

Here is the honest status as of July 2026. The company’s main website, danale.com, does not load anymore. The Danale Cam app is still listed on Google Play, but it has not received an update since June 2024, and recent reviews are heavy on login failures and cameras showing offline. We found no official shutdown announcement, but a dead website plus a two year old app is not a platform to depend on for home security. Plan your setup assuming Danale’s cloud can degrade further.

Is there a Danale app for PC?

Not an official one. Danale never published a Windows or Mac client on its own channels; the only official downloads have been the mobile apps. Log in with the account you created on your phone. Your added cameras should appear; adding a new camera is easier on the phone first, since setup uses the phone’s Wi-Fi and QR steps.
Open a camera for live view. If streams load on your phone but not in the emulator, the app itself is fine and the problem is the emulator’s network mode, so switch it between shared and bridged mode and retry.

One caveat: if login fails or the app reports errors like “device id does not exist”, that is almost always Danale’s cloud side, not your PC. No emulator setting fixes a server problem.

Given Danale’s condition, treat these as the real long term answers.

Check your camera brand’s own app first. Many cameras that shipped with Danale inside also have a brand app (Victure Home is one example), and some brands migrated users off Danale’s cloud entirely. Try RTSP in VLC. If your camera exposes an RTSP stream, you can watch it on any PC with no cloud at all: find the camera’s IP address in your router’s client list, look up the RTSP path for your model in its manual, then open a network stream in VLC in the form rtsp://user:password@camera-ip:554/path. The catch is that many Danale platform budget cameras are cloud only and expose no RTSP, in which case this route is closed.

If neither works, replace rather than patch. A camera tied to an unmaintained cloud is a dead end. There is no official shutdown announcement that we could find. But as of July 2026 the danale.com website does not load, and the Android app has not been updated since June 2024. Functionally, treat the platform as unmaintained and do not build a new setup around it.

There is no official Danale download for any version of Windows. On Windows 10 or 11 the workable route is the Android app in an emulator. On an older Windows 7 machine emulators run poorly, so RTSP in VLC is the better attempt if your camera supports it.

If the camera has power and internet, these errors usually come from Danale’s cloud rejecting or losing the device registration. Try removing and re-adding the camera from the phone app once. What can I use instead of Danale?

Danale still limps along, and the emulator route above works for cameras that still connect. But be honest with yourself about what you are maintaining: a viewer for a cloud platform whose own website is gone. Get your footage local with RTSP if your camera allows it, move to the camera brand’s own app if one exists, and if you are buying anything new, buy a camera that does not need Danale at all.
