Option 1: the Hik-Connect web portal, nothing to install
The fastest route on any computer is the official web portal at hik-connect.com. Sign in with the same email or phone number you use in the mobile app and your added devices appear in the browser for live view and device management. It works on Windows 7, 10 and 11 alike because it is just a website, which also makes it the only sane option on a work laptop where you cannot install software. If the main site does not load in your region, isa.hik-connect.com is the same portal on Hikvision’s international server. The portal is built for quick checks rather than serious use: for multi camera walls and smooth playback you want the desktop software below.
Option 2: iVMS-4200, the official desktop software
iVMS-4200 is Hikvision’s free video management client for Windows and macOS, and it is what Hikvision itself points desktop users to. The official download page on hikvision.com currently lists version 3.14, and the core features need no licence. Inside iVMS-4200 you can log in with your Hik-Connect account so your cloud added cameras appear automatically, or add devices directly by IP address on your local network. You get proper multi channel live view, playback, downloads of footage and event management, all things the mobile app and web portal only do in a limited way.

Download it only from hikvision.com. Third party mirrors of iVMS-4200 are a known source of bundled junk and outdated builds.
Option 3: install Hik-Connect on Windows with an emulator
If you specifically want the mobile app experience on your PC, run the Android app in an emulator. It works, but treat it as the last resort: it uses the most resources of the three routes for the least capability.
- Install BlueStacks on your Windows 10 or 11 PC and sign in to the Play Store.
- Search for “Hik-Connect – for End User” and install it. Check the publisher before installing, since the store carries several lookalike camera apps.
- Open the app, pick your country or region when asked (this must match the region you registered in, or your devices will not show up), and log in with your Hik-Connect account.
- Your cameras appear on the home tab. If a stream asks for a verification code, that is the device encryption code, usually printed on the camera or recorder sticker, or set by you in the mobile app under device settings.
Notifications only arrive while the emulator is running, so do not rely on this setup for alarm alerts.
Common problems and quick fixes
Device shows offline on PC but works on your phone. Cloud access has to be switched on in the device itself. In your recorder or camera’s network settings, find the platform access or Hik-Connect option and make sure it is enabled and shows an online status, then log out and back in on the PC side.
Live view asks for a verification code. That is the stream encryption code, not your account password. It is printed on the device sticker, or you can view or change it in the mobile app’s device settings.
The web portal shows a loading error. The portal is fussy about old browsers. Use a current version of Chrome or Edge, and try isa.hik-connect.com if your regional server misbehaves.
Hik-Connect, iVMS-4500 and iVMS-4200: which is which
Hikvision’s app names confuse everyone, so here is the short version.
